The Haunted Generation Radio Show #3

It’s that time again! The third Haunted Generation Radio Show is online now, and has a distinctly autumnal feel. There’s music from Magpie, Ragtime, the BBC Farming show, Bagpuss and lots more. It’s also possibly the only place you’ll find The BBC Radiophonic Workshop and Wendy Craig rubbing shoulders. There’s bit of Stateside Halloween fun with the Vince Guaraldi Trio, a couple more school assembly songs, plus tributes to Rick Jones & Alan Hawkshaw and a bit of idle speculation about the Cresta Bear.

It’s all here…

Help support the Haunted Generation website with a Ko-fi donation… thanks!

Hi again, enjoyed the show. The pinball count song by The Pointer Sisters brought a lot of memories rushing back… so much so that I bought the track from iTunes straight afterwards (only 99p).

(Oh my lawyer says I need to say that other download music services are available too, so er… there you are…)

    😉

Ha, cheers James! Delighted to help contribute a bit to the Pointer Sisters coffers.

Another wonderful, relaxing burst of nostalgia thanks Bob. Oh and it’s “Wo ist *dem* Rathaus” I think you’ll find. Extra German homework tonight 😉

I had forgotten that we used to sing Bright Eyes in assembly when I was about 5/6… it used to make me cry my eyes out because I would get so homesick for my mum when I was at school (my dad died when I was 6 so that might have contributed… the whole ‘river of death’ bit as you say)…

I can vividly remember sitting cross-legged on the parquet trying not cry, being unable to sing, and being amazed that my fellow classmates, who clearly had hearts of stone, could just sing lustily away. I know that trigger warnings can’t precede everything, but I got taken right back to W***** Primary School assembly even though I was now chopping rosemary in the kitchen, aged 47, and crying 😢

    *blows out breath*
