Patchwuff – New From Mulgrave Audio – The Haunted Generation

As well as running the whole Haunted Generation project, I’m also the co-founder of Mulgrave Audio, a small company producing original audio drama. Our debut 2023 release, Simon Perkins’ Lurgy, featured sinister 1970s Open University modules and starred BBC Radiophonic Workshop legend Roger Limb. Our second release, Fellfoul, was a love letter to 1980s swords and sorcery, with a synth-heavy soundtrack by Ghost Box Records’ Jim “Belbury Poly” Jupp.

I’m delighted to say our third release is now available for pre-order. Not only does it star TV legend Valerie Singleton, it has an original score from Sandra Kerr, composer and performer of the music from Bagpuss! Titled Patchwuff, it has been written by Mulgrave co-founder Andrew T Smith and it uses the aesthetics of 1970s children’s TV to tell a touching story about ageing and memory loss.

A long time ago, when Peter was just a little boy, his favourite place to visit was his grandmother’s sewing room. Because this was the home of the most clever, the most adventurous, the most caring old dog in the world – Patchwuff.

But when a Very Important Man decides to put Patchwuff’s stories on the television, Peter finds his loyalties divided. Patchwuff becomes an incredibly famous dog indeed, and Peter doesn’t really want to talk about him any more. As he grows older, however, life gets increasingly complicated. Can Peter really face the greatest adventure of all without Patchwuff by his side?
