Is anyone still troubled by memories of singing ‘Little Donkey’ while sitting cross-legged on a freezing parquet floor? Or playing a camel in the school nativity play and having to shuffle onstage with a brown floral cushion from the family sofa strapped to your back? Well, ding your dong merrily on high! And welcome to your favourite support group. The fifth Haunted Generation Radio Show is now online, and is a bumper festive special. There’s music from The Box Of Delights, Worzel Gummidge and Nationwide, folky delights from the The Watersons and Steeleye Span, some very strange yuletide electronica and even an Isla St Clair B-Side. It’s all here…
The wolves are running… (but the buses have probably stopped already)
Best wishes,
Bob

Hi Bob. Enjoyed this one as usual. Thank you for the shout out… I loved the way you read that piece out… I’m lucky enough to have an old C90 cassette dating from around 1981 on which we recorded my Brother aged 5 reading a dinosaur book and it’s exactly the same. 😉 Will drop you a separate email shortly too. Thanks again. Regards James

Not Harveys Bristol Cream for me but I distinctly remember sitting in an armchair at my Nan’s council house over Christmas, at around the age of 5 or 6, with a big, drunken smile on my face. Rat-arsed after a single ‘Snowball’.
Another wonderful radio show. Happy New Year!

Brilliant. Thank you for dragging me back to this…I think. I now sing little donkey with my granddaughter…she is super surprised I know the words. Playschool was fab! Swapshop was fab! Rainbow got me a side swipe from stepmother! But who said childhood was going to be easy? Great article, I feel richer for listening to radio 5 which I thought I was ‘too old’ for…
